Matthew 17,1-8 - After six days Jesus took Peter to him, James and John his brother, led them alone in a high mountain and was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun and his garments became white as light. And behold, they saw Moses and Elijah, talking with him. Peter said to Jesus: "Lord, well, we're here! If you want, we will have three booths - one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah. "Before he spoke, a sudden it glowing cloud obscured. Then from the cloud came a voice: "This is my beloved Son, whom I liked. His listen. "When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and terribly afraid. Jesus came and touched them, saying: "Arise, be not afraid." And she lifted her eyes, they saw no man than Jesus himself.
Luke and Matthew to thank for the report according to which Jesus spoke to Peter and John on the mountain to pray there. During the prayer, Jesus' face changed. Moses and Elijah, who is shown here, are explicitly identified as men and not any ghosts. Disciples of them even wanted to build tents. How is it possible that they could appear on the Mount of Transfiguration Moses and Elijah?
This event confirms that the whole man, not only the soul will be taken to heaven. Elijah never died and was taken to heaven in body as well as the body of Moses disputed with the Devil Archangel Michael. If he only went to heaven the soul of Moses, the devil would not have to do. Likewise Elijah body would be left to fail.
With these men God had a very specific plan. Moses and Elijah are the two main classes of the redeemed. Elijah, who died, but was taken directly to heaven, a people of God, which remains alive until the coming of Christ and be transformed.
2nd Royal 2,11-12 - they went on and talked together, when she suddenly broke the chariot of fire and horses - Elijah ascended in a whirlwind into heaven! When Elisha saw it, cried: "O my father, my father! Israel Ride "and never saw him no more.
Moses, who later died and was resurrected, it is those who will be resurrected at Christ's coming. Note that the dead body of Moses disputed with the Devil Archangel Michael.
Jude 1.9 - Neither the archangel Michael, when he disputed with the devil about the body of Moses, dared not bring infamous appeal, but said: "chastise thee!"
And it will again voice of the archangel, who summons the dead from the graves on the day of Christ's return.
1 Thessalonians 4,16-18 - We do not, brethren, you did not know about our dead. You do not grieve over them like others who have no hope. Jesus, we believe, died and rose from the dead just as we believe that God will bring with Jesus to life and those who have fallen asleep in him. We have word from the Lord: We who live to see the coming of the Lord, not precede those who have fallen asleep. You hear the rousing command, the voice of the archangel and the trump of God, the Lord Himself will descend from heaven and the first time the dead in Christ shall rise. We live together with them caught in the clouds to meet the Lord, then we'll be with the Lord forever. Encourage each other with these words.
Moses and Elijah are therefore already saved. Creates an exception compared to many faithful, who will be resurrected at Christ's coming. The two men talked with Jesus about his upcoming martyrdom in Jerusalem.
Luke 9,30-31 - And behold, there talked with him two men. They were Moses and Elijah, who showed up in glory and spoke of his departure, which should take place in Jerusalem.
Jesus and his disciples should be strengthened and encouraged for a period of severe trials and temptations, which is expected.
Romans 8.11 - dwells in you the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead, then He who raised Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
1 Corinthians 15,51-55 - we'll show you the secret now: Everybody dies, but we will all be changed - once, when the sound of trumpets announcing the end. Up to blow, the dead will be resurrected to immortality and we changed. This transient must put nepomíjivost, this mortal must put on immortality. And when this perishable puts deathlessnes and this mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to what is written: "Death is swallowed up, lost the victory!" "Where is death, is thy victory? Where is he now, hell, that your gun? "(Note the hell is equated with death as his weapon!)
